Want to be in the BBQ Catering business?   Wondering how to get started? 

Even if you have never cooked BBQ before we can teach you how to start a BBQ catering/vending business from the ground up.  This can be a home based business that is part time that you grow at your own pace or a full time business.    You don't need to go to a culinary school,  just practice and have patiences in cooking real bbq,  not fast food imitation stuff- Real Wood, Real BBQ, No Exceptions.  Not taking short cuts will make your BBQ stand out!

How do you know BBQ Catering is for you?  We recommend you do a Backyard BBQ contest and  Pro KCBS sanctioned  BBQ event in your area, you will find out fast if you have a passion for bbq and cooking.  All the principles for catering are learned in doing bbq competitions- meeting deadlines, organization, quality of food product, developing your flavor profiles, team work, corporate name and image, etc..  We can help you get started with contests with the basics of Chicken/Pork and  Ribs/Brisket 101 - see the cooking class tab under services for more information on what you can learn.


What is the pricing for teaching you how to start a BBQ catering business?

1. $200 to start - in person private one on one BBQ class for up to 2 people,  to cover the 4 meats- Chicken/Pork and  Ribs/Brisket 101, as well as how to make a bbq rub, injection marinades, food safety, tools of the trade, how to prep meat and more.  If after the private class you think you want to cater then you can graduate to our 6 week in depth course.

2.  $1300- 6 Sessions in person one on one course covering the following:    Sessions do not have to be consecutive weeks and can be spaced out.

or

$800  If done via phone/ internet - can include 1 in person session if needed.   **  must do  number 1 above to do 6 session course.

There is no  time limit for each session as everyone is different, we will take as long as needed at your pace and schedule.

Sessions 1 and 2-  Vendors and supplies, aspects of building a catering kitchen in your home or trailer, basics on building a turnkey web site for your catering business, other resources for state and local tax information, insurance, etc., developing a business plan if needed.

Sessions 3 and 4-  Organizational tools needed,  equipment for catering and how to use it, meeting deadlines and cooking schedules, levels of service that you can provide, how to market your business, using food trade to generate almost free advertising and marketing.  Developing your company identity, how to do a email newsletter, focusing on a niche market using your current relationships.

Sessions 5 and 6- Meeting clients expectations, how to have a smooth job everytime.  How to quote a catering job and use software.  Advance food prepration for catering- cornish hens, steak,  Recipes for side dishes, other meats for vending- hamburgers, hot dogs.  Delivery, how to set up on site for buffett, full service and more.   Practice Catering job for 20 that we will take you or work with you to arrange if your not in Middle TN,   to learn hands on from start to finish that we will observe you and help you as needed. 

***BONUS:  On going email support for up to 1 year after last session as you need or phone consulting up to 2 hours per month.

If you were to go to a culianry school this would cost you as much as $15,000!!!!   And you wouldn't learn that much on BBQ specialized cooking!
