Regardless where you lived, the winter of 2009-2010 was a brutal one! In some ways cooking bbq when it's cold is actually one of my favorite things to do. I think because it reminds that Spring is just around the corner and I don't have to face the blistering hot Summer sun and fight the heat of the smoker also!
We just did the 94FM The FISH " Love is in The Air " bridal show and got to meet a ton of perspective brides and vendors. Getting married is a big step and after 4 years of marriage I'm just beginning to understand my wife. Or as she says- I finally got with her program of teaching me how to be married... Ok I can buy that, us men need to be trained as all men are really just grown boys!
I think for us what has kept us continuing to grow as a couple is new challenges both in our relationship and business. We are each unique individuals, but then again we are a team - doesn't mean a team will always agree, but that you have a goal to both work for and accomplish. I think when people say opposites attract that is very true, but if your too opposite in some key areas, then your relationship could be a recipe for failure. You have to have some key things in common and understanding- 3 F's- faith, financial, family is a good start, you can't over look any of the three or you could be in for a rough road ahead.
A interesting study done by Kenmore Pro kitchen appliances- 1500 couples were polled and the results said that 82% of the couples who cook together described their relationships as “excellent." Only 25% of those who do not cook together could say the same.
For us in 2010 our relationship or team builder is adopting from the Ukraine. Something we are both passionate about to make a difference in the lives of orphan's that need a home. We could have children, but feel this is something were called to do and hope to be blessed with a boy and girl between the ages of 6-11 to add to our family.
Please pray for us on this journey that were on. Most of the money we earn from catering is going to go to our adoption fund.
